i’d make a better pope than bennie, and i’m a jewish female. i’m a much cheaper date than he is. i walk around in $1.99 flipflops all day. no need for those expensive prada shoes. all the money i will save the church can go to all those kids who have been abused.

Christopher Hitchens has done some outstanding reporting/quipping on the phenomenon of priestly pedophilia.

“Nothing good can come of a church that has as its’ slogan, ‘Leave no child’s behind.'” as told to Bill Maher on Real Time with Bill Maher.

On March 10, the chief exorcist of the Vatican, the Rev. Gabriele Amorth (who has held this demanding post for 25 years), was quoted as saying that “the Devil is at work inside the Vatican,” and that “when one speaks of ‘the smoke of Satan’ in the holy rooms, it is all true—including these latest stories of violence and pedophilia.” This can perhaps be taken as confirmation that something horrible has indeed been going on in the holy precincts, though most inquiries show it to have a perfectly good material explanation. –Christopher Hitchens (Slate Magazine)

Holy Fuck! I think the Vatican exorcist has been to work on His Holiness! Now, if he would get to work on the pedi-priests…

Loved this line as posted recently by Maureen Dowd in the New York Times:

“This church needs a sexorist more than an exorcist” (referring to Father Gabriele Amorth, chief exorcist for the Holy See).

sorry…rational thinking doesn’t mix with religion and politics.

5&6 are interelated. I think the church already let gays in, promoted them, and even provided alter boys as their sex toys. In fact, the Catholic church is a big fat gay fraternity. Can we say Knight Templars? I think they need to finish getting rid of all the women, like they tried with the “Witches Hammer”, but not quite so violently. Then they can make it an all boys club, and frolic about like the Greekish/Romans they truly are. JM

Wow, this is the stuff I like to hear. Ya’ll have some great things to say about all this stuff. I mostly keep my ideas about the things going on in the Catholic church to myself, since I was raised Baptist and still consider myself one, though I don’t go to church. While reading all the things that they have been finding out about the Cathlic church, I have to say that I am glad my father changed his religion before I was born, though I doubt I would have much to worry about since I am female. Way to go ya’ll. If the Church would take some of your advice, then I really do think things would start to look up a bit for the Masses.

This is a particularly well timed piece because just today i read that the Catholic Church is headed for even more trouble, with reposts that even more sexual assault claims are due to emerge – they need your help more than ever! Esp given the Pope’s reaction; that he would not be bothered by ”the petty gossip of dominant opinion”!! Hilarious, petty and dominant in the same sentence – those pesky majority types!

This article is worthy of at least a second comment, considering the Catholic Church’s influence on this fine Democratic Republican country in which we reside.

The Catholic church was extremely instrumental during the civil war, playing a crucial role in helping the Northern states, (Federalists) kick the Southern states, (anti-Catholic, anti-federalist, Bible-belt Baptists)asses. Before the war there was a total of 700 Catholic Priests (pedophiles) in these grand states, and shortly thereafter, we had a total exceeding 6000 of these ornamentally draped bastards.

The easy solution to the North’s shortage of troops, and the Pope’s shortage of Papal States, having just lost all of Italy, was immigration. The starving Irish and the gullible Spanish (mexicans) immigrants were the final solution.

Both groups were steadfast Catholics and looked great in Yankee uniforms. The North won the war, the Pope won his Papal states and the priests had plenty of alter boys to fondle. Oh, and the rest of us lost. Another fine political plot we can all thank Abraham Lincoln for. JM

There’s not much of a ‘show’ once you strip the clergy of their garb (I suppose the same could be said of royal families and celebrities).
